ASSIGNMENT
Part I: Choose an animal and develop a visually engaging digital icon while using the fundamental elements of design and focusing on strong geometry.
Part II: Incorporate a phrase with the animal icon to create one cohesive design while using fibonacci proportions.

Use principles of design and geometry to convey the creature’s distinct physical and behavioral characteristics. Experiment with abstraction in form and shape to creatively express its identity.

SKETCHES
These sketches explore the fluid movement and yet forgetfulness of the goldfish. Emphasis was placed on capturing the graceful flow and organic curves to convey a sense of motion and lightness, which are key elements in the overall aesthetic of the final design.
VISUAL DEVELOPMENTS: PART I
The front view was a strong angle to catch both the fins and face simultaneously. The direction captured the flow of the fins as well as the dazed look on the fish.
FINAL CREATURE
The mark shows silk like fins, emphasizing movement. The glassy eyes and open mouth create a dazed and confused expression to give the mark character.
VISUAL DEVELOPMENTS: PART II
Original phrase: "Gliding gracefully with fins flowing through water like silk"
FINAL INTERPRETIVE PHRASE
The final creature mark with the phrase creates an elegant look, adding to a composition built upon the golden ratio. This was used to move the eye across the screen and make an aesthetically pleasing composition.
